Recently, we had the pleasure of celebrating our tenth year of business—happy birthday to us!
Truly, we can’t begin to express all the joy and gratitude we feel around having been part of our community for over a decade. While the tenth year of business is worth celebrating in any industry, we’re especially proud to have reached this mark as experts in home building and commercial construction.
The State of the Modern Construction Industry
Though we love our industry and many of our fellow construction business owners, we’re often disappointed by the depressing statistics around the state of the modern construction industry. A quick Google search returns data that look grim from just about any angle. For example:
- 90% of all global infrastructure projects are either over-budget or delayed. [FMI]
- 11 of the 20 professions least likely to have health insurance are in the construction industry. [MarketWatch]
- Construction was responsible for the highest number of fatal work injuries in 2018 [U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics]
Figures like these, in combination with the immeasurable prevalence of improperly licensed/insured contractors, have given the construction industry a bad rep in recent years. Simply put, a lot of people have been burned by amateurs—or even scam artists—posing as contracting professionals.

On the same token though, these nagging statistics played a huge role in our decision to launch the business, and they still drive us to do our best every single day. We can’t control the folks out there running construction businesses irresponsibly, but we can provide high-quality, professional contracting services to our own clients.
