Bloomery Plantation Distillery is an award-winning distillery in the heart of Charles Town, WV. Known for their out-of-this-world limoncello and having received numerous awards for their spirits over the years, Bloomery Plantation Distillery is truly one of West Virginia’s best-kept-secrets. However, that hasn’t always been the case.
Humble Origins
Bloomery Plantation Distillery celebrated their grand opening on September 13, 2011. Prior to owner Linda Losey casting her vision and partnering up with J.C. Smith for renovations, this now-stunning building was a charming but rough around the edges little shack that needed some love to meet its full potential.
Breathing Life Back into the Past
“We were so excited to work on the Bloomery Plantation renovation,” said J.C. Smith co-owner Chrissy Smith. “The vision they had from the start and that we were able to transform it the way we did was really unbelievable. Some of the bones were good. The roof and foundation had to be completely redone. We had to jack the building up and pour in footers. It was a super old, beautiful building that underwent a dramatic transformation.”
